Welcome to The Fantasy Football Blog

This is long overdue, but 4 weeks into the season I've decided to provide fantasy advice.

Tuesday of this blog will be Buy Low/Sell High.

Without further adieu:

Week 5 Buy Low/Sell High

Buy Low:
Santonio Holmes (WR Steelers): He finally scored a touchdown this week which may bump his value up in some owner's eyes, but his value right now is much lower than his value will be going forward. If you're looking for another WR to contribute, and you have the depth at RB or QB to land Holmes, do yourself a favor.

Steven Jackson (RB Rams): The coaching change may revitalize an otherwise stale offense, but Steven Jackson continues to get his stats. He just had a monster game, so it will take a little to pry him away, but if you can afford to give away a solid RB, without wearing yourself too thin at running back for this week, a Steven Jackson owner might be willing to give him up for another solid RB since Jackson is on a bye this week. It's worth noting that Steven Jackson's fantasy playoff schedule is very favorable. In order from week 14-week 17, he faces: Arizona, Seattle, San Francisco, and Atlanta. He hasn't had many TD's so far, which has held down his value, but if the game against Buffalo is any indicator, he will pick up the TD totals, and his pass-catching abilities make him a guarantee to touch the ball on well over half the offensive snaps for his team.

Carson Palmer (QB Bengals): Palmer's value is at rock bottom. He went in the 3rd and 4th rounds of most drafts, but has only had 1 game with any real production, and now he's got an elbow injury. Most likely the Palmer owner is down on Carson, so he can be had for real cheap, and has the potential to put up top 5 stats. Throw out as many garbage trades as you can think of to try and land him, so the risk is low, and you could be reaping the rewards in as little as 2 weeks. The Bengals offense is able to spread the field better when Chris Henry is on the field, and they get him back from suspension this week. Whether he plays or not is unknown. Don't rely on Palmer this week, as his matchup isn't that good anyhow, but he should put up numbers for you in the future.

Sell High:
DeSean Jackson (WR Eagles): Jackson has been a stud thus far, and I really like his skills, which is why I drafted him, but he's made a lot of mistakes. Reggie Brown looked fairly healthy on Sunday night and Kevin Curtis is set to make his season debut any week now. If you're not relying on DeSean, see what you can get for him while his value is still high. Play up the fact that he's a top 10 WR to this point and you might be able to land good value at QB RB or TE.

Donovan McNabb (QB Eagles): Chances are, when you drafted McNabb, you were sure to draft another QB in the next few rounds as insurance. Well, McNabb is starting his season out just as planned, and any week could be the week he gets hurt for the season. If you have anyone worth starting at QB on your roster, sell McNabb to the person who drafted Tom Brady, so then when he goes down, you can laugh at that team for losing 2 QBs for the year.

Michael Turner (RB Falcons): It's pretty much official that this dude is only gonna put up stats against bad defenses. The good news is that he's had 2 games against the aforementioned bad defenses, and his points are up. Sell him to someone desperate for a RB.

Comments and questions are more than welcome.
